Alexis Andrei

Born and raised in Houston, Alexis Andrei has been painting and drawing since her early childhood. Extensive international travel has helped to hone her cosmopolitan influences into a fundamentally diverse and original worldview, which manifests itself in her work. She began exhibiting her work to the public in 1999 by contributing a piece to a Houston area charitable fund raising gala. Since then she has exhibited in numerous shows all across the state of Texas. Alexis frequently donates pieces for fund raising events including various cancer and AIDS related charities. Her paintings are included in private collections throughout the United States.

The artistic values pervading Alexis' paintings range from amorphous abstracts to deeply personal modern minimalist abstract portraits. Her subject matter allows her to show her own deeply personal and unique style. At the same time her works possess timeless universal qualities of birth, death, nature and religion, inspiring a spiritual atmosphere. She creates tension and balance through the abstract blending of colors and hues to evoke deep emotional reactions from the observer.
